Oh snap!
Yesterday I installed the new Intel UHD Graphics driver (version 30.0.100.9864) directly from Intel on my lovely Dell Precision 5750 (it was recommended through the Intel Driver & Support Assistant, which I have installed on the laptop).
Today I got a Windows Update Restart notification, so I restarted before I started working… Turned out that the fresh graphics driver was replaced by the old version by Windows Update (version 27.20.100.8853)… I confirmed this by reinstalling the new driver again, and then immediately ”seeking” on Windows Update.
I don’t currently know if it is possible to prohibit Windows Update from autotically downgrading my display driver, so I will have to live with the old driver (and the annoying notification that there is an update available from Intel) for a while…
